NFL Week 7 picks
Week 7 is in the books. Here is the free pick as it was published, and how every pick on the members' board landed — wins and losses alike, graded at the published price.
PHI ML +190 at ESPN Bet
Dallas Cowboys at Philadelphia Eagles · Monday, October 26 · 8:15 PM ET · final DAL 38 – PHI 21
The model projects Dallas Cowboys by 1.8 points (23–21, DAL at PHI), with a projected total of 44 against the market's 43.5. The market has Dallas Cowboys favored by 4.5. On the moneyline the model's raw number gives Philadelphia Eagles a 42% chance to win; the price of +190 implies 33.5%. We never bet the raw model — the market is part of the number. Blended, our probability is 37.0%, an edge of 3.6% over the price. That is what makes it the free pick: of the plays still to come on this week's board priced between -250 and +250 whose number beats the price even after the sportsbook's cut, this is the most likely to win.

The research behind the tickets
Monday night closes Week 7 with Cowboys at Eagles. Philadelphia is without its quarterback, its second receiver, its right tackle and its center; Dallas has the seventh-best offense in the league by EPA, the worst pass defense, and 29 points across two prime-time losses. The line has moved from Dallas -5.5 to -4.5 and the total from 44.5 to 43.5 against most of the public money, so we are not laying the points. The edges we found are in volume — catches and yards against two thin pass defenses — plus a small lean to the Eagles with the points and to the Under.
Built Sunday night from the model's Sunday-morning board, the official injury reports, the NWS forecast, EPA and pressure data (SumerSports, Sharp Football), the book grid at VegasInsider and the analysts' cases at Covers, SI, The Inquirer and NBC Sports Philadelphia. Prices are the best we found at US books at the time and will move.

A road favorite, a backup quarterback, and a market that already moved Philadelphia comes in missing more than its quarterback. Jalen Hurts is on injured reserve (blood clots) and may be done for the year; Tanner McKee makes his second start behind a line that has lost Lane Johnson to retirement, Cam Jurgens to a trade and Landon… read it → |

About these picks
What is the free pick?
The most likely winner on the NFL board this week that is still priced in your favour: a moneyline between -250 and +250 where our number — the model blended with the market price — beats the sportsbook's price even after the book's cut (if no moneyline qualifies, the most likely spread or total that does). It is chosen when the week's board is first published, kept as published, and graded in public after the game like every other pick. Through Week 2 of 2026 the free pick was the single most likely side on the board instead; those are shown as they were published.
Where do the probabilities come from?
A proprietary model projects every game's margin and total from team strength, recent form, injuries and matchups, then blends its raw probability with the price the sportsbooks are offering. The blended number is what we publish; the raw model on its own would call winners a touch less often than the closing line, which is why the market is part of the number.
Does a high probability mean the bet is safe?
No. 37.0% is a probability, not a promise: the other side happens. Favorites pay short prices for exactly that reason. Black Box Bets is an information service, not a sportsbook; no pick, parlay or strategy is guaranteed to profit, and past results — including the 2018–2025 test — do not predict future ones.
